Veterans understand the unique challenges and transitions that come with military service. Your experience and perspective can make a meaningful impact on another veteran’s journey.
The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, in partnership with the Florida Department of Children and Families, is seeking dedicated veterans to serve as volunteers, providing outreach, encouragement, and connection to fellow veterans.
What You’ll Do
As a Veteran Volunteer, you will:
- Reach out to fellow veterans through phone and text
- Offer encouragement and peer-to-peer support
- Help identify needs and connect veterans to available resources
- Serve as a trusted voice who understands the veteran experience
Volunteer Requirements
To participate, volunteers should:
- Be a U.S. military veteran
- Enjoy connecting and speaking with other veterans
- Be comfortable using technology (phone, email, basic systems)
- Be available for at least 2 hours per week to conduct outreach
